Summer

Summer

She smiled the sun
in an afternoon way.
The summer day
became her skin –

she wore it loosely.
A cotton breeze
played her hair
like a harp.

She danced her laughter
while green fingers
tickled her feet.
And her thoughts

t u m b l e d
in fields of
dandelion wishes.
